Two conjoined twin babies who underwent a risky surgery are now recovering in separate beds.

Jadon and Anias McDonald, both captured the attention of the internet after their incredible surgery was reported by media outlets around the world.

The twins had connected heads about 13 months ago, which resulted in a 27-hour surgery at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York.

The surgery was a success, and since then, both twins have been resting in separate beds, ABC affiliate WABC reported.

Messages and support began pouring in at the babies’ parents soon after their surgery went viral on social media.

As part of a CNN exclusive, Dr. Sanjay Gupta spoke with the parents and took pictures of when the mother was finally able to cuddle with her babies.

Christian McDonald, the twins’ father, gave the following statement after the surgery.

“It’s just amazing how these people who are total strangers can love our babies, the way they do and you could really feel their love through their messages and just all the donations.”
